Wa alaikum salam wa rahmatullah,

the interventions mentioned above have been proven scientifically to improve health. however, sticking to this alone does not necessarily guarantee everybody of good health.

the state of mind also plays a very important part in the general well-being of a person. I believe we've all heard about the psycho-somatic theory, which suggests that someone whose state of mind is not balanced or is disturbed might actually show symptoms such as bodily pain, weight-loss or gain, dizziness, fainting, etc. So a depressed person who eats good food and exercises everyday might actually not be (and feel) healthy.

we need to do away or find effective painless ways with dealing with feelings and emotions such as anger, hatred, envy, jealousy, etc. Anxiety, coming from our desire for so many things in life, or depression resulting from difficulties we face are also very important and need to be avoided. This has been confirmed by Rasul (saw) who said "The heart of an old man remains young in two respects: i.e. his love for the world (its wealth, amusements and luxuries) and is incessant hope."

All of these can be dealt with by having absolute trust in the guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Following these teachings and developing faith through that will help one do away with anger, hatred, etc. Knowing, for example the saying of Rasul (saw) that "Riches does not mean having a great amount of money, but riches is self-contentment" and living by this teaching will keep on clear of anxiety of wanting money, and the depression of not having it.

Allah Almighty knows best!
